Selling Your Work

Updated: Jan 16, 2019

Fine Art DOES sell!

It's not easy being a photographer that isn't a fan of doing things like weddings or portraits. I used to say I would never do weddings or portraits! I love doing them now but I totally understand the feeling of just wanting to do photoshoots that you plan, pull together, and shoot. I still do that! And I'm always really proud of the work. But I'm not dependant on it! So, how do you do it?

“...the only way to get your work sold, is to get your work out there."

I reccommend selling on multiple platforms. It's really easy to sell on Wix if you have a site! I do it (You should head over now if you haven't seen it yet!)! I also sell my work on redbubble.com at https://www.redbubble.com/people/kaleidoscopehg! It's an awesome site for artists to sell their work in multiple different formats! I also sell on Etsy, my store is called KaleidosocopePhotohg! It's a really fun site with a lot of different ways to sell your stuff! I mostly do digital downloads through Etsy! But seriously, the only way to get your work sold, is to get your work out there.

Keep Creating!

It can be a real downer to put your work out there and not have it sell. It's really hard to keep the hustle up if you aren't getting any results! But the hustle can't stop! Maybe try your hand at new things. Maybe make some work that's more connected to what's selling (just to get your name out there of course!). Maybe you need to get a more regular update schedule! I know I do. People like to see consistency in creators. It shows dedication. So don't get down on yourself. And maybe even buy some of your own stuff! Advertise for yourself! I know I have!
